What TENCEL Actually Is

TENCEL is Lenzing's branded lyocell fiber, made by dissolving wood pulp from sustainably managed forests in a closed-loop process that recovers and reuses over 99% of its solvent. It behaves like a technical fabric, moisture-wicking and breathable, without starting from petroleum the way polyester and nylon do, and it biodegrades at the end of its life.

Why It Isn't Just a Marketing Word Here

A lot of “eco” activewear lists TENCEL as a small percentage blended into mostly polyester. Our TENCEL leggings lead with TENCEL as the primary fiber, paired only with the recycled elastane needed for stretch, and every batch is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified rather than self-described as safe.
