Hawaiian monk seals are one of the most endangered marine mammals on Earth, and marine debris, discarded nets, plastic, fishing line, is a direct threat to them through entanglement and habitat loss. Removing that debris before it works further into the ecosystem is unglamorous work, but it's some of the most direct, measurable conservation there is.
