The Men's Whale Tail LS blends recycled plastic bottles (rPET) with organic cotton. The recycled content comes from post-consumer bottles, cleaned, melted, and respun into yarn, using meaningfully less water and energy than producing new polyester from petroleum.

The organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, on a crop that, grown conventionally, accounts for around 16% of the world's insecticide use despite covering only 2.5% of its farmland.

Whales matter to ocean health well beyond their own numbers. As they feed at depth and surface to breathe, they cycle nutrients like nitrogen and iron up through the water column, a process researchers call the "whale pump," which fuels the phytoplankton blooms that produce roughly half of the world's oxygen and absorb large amounts of atmospheric CO2. When a whale dies, its body sinks and stores that carbon at the seafloor for centuries. Fewer whales means a weaker version of that cycle.
